On 29TH May, the opening ceremony of Start Up Village 2019 was held in Moscow at the Skolkovo Innovation Centre, the most important event in the Russian technological innovation sector, where Italy was present for the second consecutive year as a partner country with its own pavilion designed by Remigio Architects and dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci.

In the design for the Italian pavilion, Remigio Architects wanted to include a 3D steel and corten structure depicting Leonardo’s famous Vitruvian Man, a symbol of Italian innovation and excellence. The sculpture was donated to Skolkovo Foundation during the opening of the Italian pavilion at the Startup Village.

“If he lived in this era, Leonardo Da Vinci would certainly be here, in Skolkovo. He would encourage the discovery of talent, research, development, he would frequent the most creative and technological contexts, business incubators and accelerators,” these were the words of Luca Remigio, at the inauguration of the ITA Village.

“It’s 500 years since his death, but Leonardo is more actual than ever,” continues the CEO of Remigio Architects. “The Vitruvian Man, can only belong to Skolkovo to be an inspiration and a reminder that Leonardo’s vision, ingenuity and talent live among us, in places like this.”
